Drive Thru Empire Prestige Checklist

Reset for permanent multipliers only when your Route 66 run has finished its job.

Last updated:

Prestige in Drive Thru Empire resets progress in exchange for permanent income multipliers. Used well, it turns a dusty drive-thru into a faster replay loop. Used early, it throws away Safe-O-Matic coverage, Star unlocks, and Workshop card investment right when they start to matter. This checklist is your go/no-go tool—pair it with the narrative guide on prestige and the spend order on upgrade priority.

The one-sentence rule

Prestige when another hour in this run buys less future speed than the permanent multiplier you would gain—and when you are willing to rebuild businesses on purpose.

Green lights (Prestige is reasonable)

Check as many as you can before resetting:

  1. Automation online — Safe-O-Matic (or equivalent collection) covers your open businesses so the run taught you the idle loop, not just tapping.
  2. Primary bottlenecks cleared — drive-thru wait times are no longer absurd; crew/kitchen nodes are past the painful early ranks.
  3. Star goals met for this cycle — you unlocked the side businesses you planned (see business order) or knowingly deferred them.
  4. Workshop snapshot taken — you spent available Crystals/Hammers on cards you will miss least after reset, or you accept losing unspent materials if the game treats them as run-bound.
  5. Income curve flattened — upgrades still cost more but move the needle less; you catch yourself idling in menus.
  6. You have time for a replay session — Prestige feels bad if you reset right before a busy week and cannot rebuild.
  7. Victor events are not mid-sabotage — if Victor Steele pressure is temporarily suppressing income, wait until you can read your true earnings rate.
  8. No unverified “code requires Prestige” rumor — the Codes Hub still has no verified gifts; never reset for a fake list.

Yellow lights (pause and think)

  • You just opened motel/EV/store and have not funded their speed nodes yet.
  • A new level, card, or area just dropped—skim version history so you do not wipe during a content spike.
  • Offline earnings look broken; fix session habits via tips before blaming the run.
  • You are tilting from ads or a stuck popup—cool down, update the app, then decide (see IAP guide and review).
  • You are one Star away from a business you actually want to experience this cycle.

Red lights (do not Prestige yet)

  • Tutorial / first hour is unfinished — finish Getting Started.
  • Zero automation and every lane is manual.
  • You still have cheap S-tier upgrades unbought on your main money maker.
  • You are resetting solely to “feel progress” without a multiplier target.
  • You believe a random blog’s invented gift code needs a fresh save.

Pre-Prestige inventory dump

Spend or convert what does not survive a reset (based on how your build treats currencies—observe once and note it):

  • Cash → final S-tier speed/automation if it helps you claim the Prestige affordably.
  • Stars → last unlock you care about this cycle.
  • Crystals / Hammers → Workshop cards if they persist or if they speed the claim.
  • Temporary boosters → activate before the final push, not after.

If something is permanent already, stop worrying about it.

Post-Prestige restart script

  1. Collect any immediate multiplier confirmation.
  2. Rebuild drive-thru speed → Safe-O-Matic → traffic (same upgrade priority).
  3. Reopen businesses in sensible business order.
  4. Reinvest Workshop as Crystals/Hammers return.
  5. Bookmark this checklist for the next plateau.

Prestige vs paying for 2X Income

Prestige multipliers and the 2X Income Forever IAP both raise earnings, but only Prestige is progression. 2X is a wallet decision covered in the IAP guide. Do not Prestige just because a popup said you are “behind.” Do not buy 2X just because a reset felt scary. They solve different problems.

Tracking sheet (copy into notes)

  • Date / app version: ____
  • Businesses owned: ____
  • Safe-O-Matic coverage: yes/no
  • Stars banked: ____
  • Workshop cards upgraded this run: ____
  • Reason for Prestige: ____
  • Multiplier expected: ____
  • Result after 24h rebuild: better / same / worse

Logging one cycle teaches more than three impulse resets.

Reset with intent, rebuild with a plan, and Route 66 stays a tycoon—not a chore treadmill.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When should I Prestige for the first time?

After automation is online, early S-tier upgrades are done, and income growth feels flat—usually not during the first tutorial hour.

Will Prestige delete my No-Ads purchase?

IAP entitlements are account/App Store purchases, not run cash. If a purchase fails to apply, that is a restore/bug issue—see the IAP guide.

Should I Prestige to fix offline earning bugs?

No. Troubleshoot with tips and app updates first. Resetting does not replace a save/sync fix.

Do I need verified codes before Prestige?

No. There are no verified public codes right now on the Codes Hub. Prestige on gameplay math alone.

What do I buy right after Prestige?

Replay S-tier order: service speed, Safe-O-Matic, traffic, then Stars—outlined in upgrade priority.
